Two-dose measles vaccine effectiveness remains high over time: A French observational study, 2017-2019
CONCLUSION: Our study confirms the continued high effectiveness of two doses of MCV with only slight degradation, decades after immunization. These findings support the importance of achieving a very high vaccination coverage with 2 doses of MCV.PMID:37586955 | DOI:10.1016/j.vaccine.2023.08.018

Identification of risk areas and factors associated with the 2019 measles epidemic in the State of S ão Paulo, Brazil
This study aimed to analyze the occurrence of clusters and factors associated with the resurgence of measles cases from the largest epidemic of the post-elimination period in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, in 2019. Sociosanitary and care factors were analyzed by zero-inflated Poisson (ZIP) and ZIP models with structured and unstructured spatial effect. The SCAN statistic was used to analyze the occurrence of case clusters. Clusters of high-risk cases were identified in municipalities that make up the intermediate region of São Paulo. In the ZIP model, the following variables were observed as risk factors at the municipa...

It is often considered as a benign disease, although mortality remains high in developing countries (>5%). Frequent complications (diarrhea, otitis, pneumonia, encephalitis) can be observed. The disease mainly affects young children from 5 to 6 months of age with a mortality peak in the first three years of life. The Persian physician Rhazes gave the first clinical description of the disease in the 10th century, clearly di...

Clinical observation and analysis of skin reactions caused by COVID-19 vaccination
This study included 132 cases of adverse skin reactions after the injection of COVID-19 vaccination from January 2021 to January 2022. The rate of adverse skin reactions after the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were 52%, 40%, and 8% of total adverse skin reactions, respectively. The Urticaria-like rash was the most common manifestation of all adverse skin reactions, accounting for 40.15% of all adverse reactions. The Eczema-like rash was 27.27%. The rates of adverse skin reactions after vaccination with the COVID-19 vaccine in patients with a previous skin disease was 12.12%. Other rare skin adverse reacti...
